Cashmere High School

CM New Zealand Limited was appointed project manager to deliver eight teaching spaces in a very short period of time. The project involved four relocatable buildings 12m x 12m these all had to be split into two parts and transported and craned into location. A large central deck connected all the classrooms.

  • Site visit to the school attending the briefing meeting, photograph school.
  • General communication and timelines during design, providing construction buildability, product suitability and availability.
  • Assist procurement with review of any tags and contract preparation.
  • Assist with issuing of building consent documentation to the contractor (staged consent).
  • Attend the school with Hawkins for a contractor site visit meeting during the pricing period.
  • Review contractors SSSMP, site access and school access plan.
  • Review contractor’s construction programme.

  • Pre contract setup.
  • Confirming all insurance cover is in place.
  • Minutes issued to client and building contractor.
  • Receive and audit the contractor’s safety, quality, and traffic management plans during construction.
  • Responding to any requests for information and issuing contract instructions accordingly.
  • Monitor and adjust the contingency sum with the allocated QS.
  • Grant extensions of time.
  • Prepare and issue a list of defects during the defect’s liability period (in conjunction with the designer).
  • Issue Practical completion certificate.

  • End of defects period.
  • Attend site and issue final completion certificate.
